Capital Projects Progress
As all three major capital projects are now underway, a monthly digital newsletter, “Drawing Board”, was sent via email providing recent updates on the progress through videos, photography, timelines and FAQ’s. All of the information can also be found at oceanreef.com/CapitalProjects, which can be accessed at any time and includes a digital version of the Capital Projects Brochure along with up-to-date project photos and the most recent information on construction progress.
With the Club’s continued focus on the overall safety and well-being of the entire Ocean Reef community, all contractors assigned to Club projects (Ocean Room, Parking Garage and Clubhouse) are required to agree to a set of COVID rules, guidelines and best practices. This includes face masks worn daily, availability of hand sanitizer, hand washing stations installed at site entrances, temperature checks, and limited sharing of tools and other equipment. Group seating at lunch and meetings is not permitted and contractors have agreed to stay on their respective Club job site at all times. These protocols are similar to those of Club Associates; and all contractors working on Club projects have complied and are practicing these required guidelines.
Also announced in July was the awarding of contracts for the Ocean Room/Lobby and Clubhouse. Following a competitive bid process, Woolems (which did the Islander renovation) was awarded the contract for the Ocean Room / Lobby at a negotiated fixed price and Craft Construction, recommended by the developer of The Residences project, was awarded the contract for the Clubhouse.
It is an exciting future for your Club and as promised, these projects are expected to be completed without any assessments or need for outside financing due to the coronavirus situation. Look for the Mid-Year Report via email containing additional Club updates and information.
