Club Operational Update
As Members return to The Reef, two notable topics are COVID safety protocols and the exciting Capital Projects. This month we will be providing additional updates via email, at the Advisory Council meeting on Thursday, November 19, and Town Hall on Friday, November 20. In the meantime, below are a few reminders and updates on both.
COVID Reminders
Please take a few minutes to review this safety information for you, your family and your guests, to enable us to deliver the memorable experiences that all Members of the Club cherish.
All Members and guests staying at the Inn, Vacation Rental homes or the Marina will have their temperature taken upon arrival. Anyone with a temperature above 100.4 will be asked to quarantine for 24 hours and re-test the following day. If they test above 100.4 a second time, they will be asked to depart the Club or remain in quarantine.
Per Monroe County, masks must be worn in any public area, indoors and outdoors, where social distancing cannot be practiced except when seated for eating or drinking. Masks are required in all public areas, including restrooms and when traversing between different areas of the Club.
Masks must be worn when approaching bartenders, servers and any other Club staff.
For dining, spacing between tables, indoors and outdoors, are set 6’ apart. Tables will be set for a maximum of eight. Please do not move any tables or rearrange chairs so that all members can feel comfortable.
We ask that you please follow all safety signage, as certain areas have restrictions and limitations specific to their facility.

Capital Projects Update
The refresh and upgrade to Reef Hut is complete. Reef Hut now offers more indoor and outdoor seating, along with a new outdoor tiki hut with fans designed to provide more shade. With a larger kitchen, the menu has been expanded featuring both new hot items and an array of grab n’ go offerings. All of these changes are the result of positive Member feedback and support for this popular venue.
The Associate Parking Garage is just about forty-five days from completion. The precast structure is fully assembled and now the mechanical, electrical and plumbing are in the works. The demolition for both the Ocean Room and Clubhouse projects are complete. Woolems, the construction team for the Ocean Room/Inn is finalizing the much needed structural repairs that were discovered during demolition. They have also started framing the interior of the building while mechanical and electrical work also take place. Craft Construction has completed the demolition of the Clubhouse on schedule and we will soon start to see the exterior structure taking shape.
The Club is continuing to require all contractors assigned to Club projects (Ocean Room, Parking Garage and Clubhouse) to agree to a set of COVID rules, guidelines and best practices similar to those of our Associates. The process continues to run smoothly and as community partners, these companies have taken responsibility to protect the safe environment we are providing to all Members and Associates.
These projects continue as promised by the Board of Directors, without any assessments or need for outside financing due to the coronavirus situation. Visit oceanreef.com/capitalprojects for progress photos.
