Club Operational Updates
Earlier this month, a Club Operational Update was sent via email with a link to a comprehensive booklet detailing the Club’s various dining facilities and amenities; and outlining how they will operate this season in light of the continuing COVID pandemic. The Club’s Board of Directors and Management Team want to provide an environment where Members feel comfortable using every Club amenity. The health and welfare of our Members, their guests and Associates remains the highest priority.
Since March, numerous actions have taken place to ensure the safety of the Ocean Reef community. This includes temperatures being taken at the Front Gate, Marina and Airport along with all Associates having their temperatures taken daily. Seasonal Associates will have COVID tests upon arrival at The Medical Center. Masks continue to be required for all Club Associates whether indoors or out, and personal size hand sanitizers are a part of the Club uniform. Touchpoints have been reduced throughout the Club from Menus to Coffee Stations and buffets have also been eliminated. As the Club moves into season, additional initiatives like upgrading air filters to MERV 11 and 13 from the industry standard of MERV 8 are being implemented. High touch areas such as the Fitness Center, Spa and Card & Games Room will also have dedicated UV units and AirPHX air purifiers.
Food & Beverage
While the State of Florida authorized 100% seating capacity, Ocean Reef Club announced that it will continue to limit indoor eating venues to the 50% capacity level. As detailed in the Operational Booklet, new indoor and outdoor eating venues have been creatively designed to increase the overall availability of dining seats. Dockside seating and a Tiki Hut at the Raw Bar are one example along with larger undertakings like Palm Court Nights and Town Hall waterside. With these additions and others, total capacity at several individual venues has been increased while still adhering to self-imposed 50% capacity level.
Member Guest Policy
At the beginning of the pandemic, the Club instituted a no guest card policy in an effort to manage the reduced capacities while also adhering to the State and County guidelines. Beginning on October 15, the Club began issuing Guest Cards to Members again. Details of the Club’s practices as related to the coronavirus are included with reservation confirmations and in-room collateral upon arrival. All guests will have their temperature taken upon arrival as well. The Club wants to be sure that Member families and guests know what to expect and ask for compliance for the safety and well-being of fellow Club members and the Community. There is much more contained in the Operational Booklet including information on canceled and modified events along with details on all the new food & beverage concepts coming this winter. The full booklet can be found at oceanreef.com/coronavirus, under the Club Operational Update tab.
