Five weeks ago, the Met debuted its first new production of Verdi’s Aida in nearly 40 years. Director Michael Mayer reimagined Verdi’s epic drama with a state-of-the-art approach, featuring towering sets, opulent costumes, and dynamic projections that brought ancient Egypt to life in all its grandeur. Soprano Angel Blue made her highly anticipated role debut in the title role, with Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting.
