As a young boy, Chef Andrea Rodella knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. He credits his beloved grandparents, who were outstanding chefs, to helping him develop his passion for cooking. During these early
years, Andrea made the commitment to attend “The Italian Culinary Institute” in Mantova, Italy for high school.
After graduation, Chef Andrea began his career as a sous chef and then evolved into an executive chef at award-winning restaurants in Italy…a few with Michelin stars!
The Big Move
Moving to California, Chef Andrea became a sought-out chef who was proficient in Italian, Continental, and Fusion cuisine. Opening restaurants, training staff, developing menus, and leading a culinary team became his forte. Now with over 20 years’ experience in cooking and kitchen management, Chef Andrea Rodella has marvelously come to Ocean Reef Club.
Diners will be thrilled to welcome Chef Andrea to Gianni as Chef de Cuisine this season. Arriving in July, he cooked with Chef Betania, who has now become the Chef de Cuisine at Carysfort Kitchen. Over the summer, we definitely savored and enjoyed Chef Andrea’s delicious specials.
Chef Andrea shared that his style is to “serve the authenticity of regional Italian cuisine by showcasing fresh, seasonal ingredients and creating rustic to elegant dining opportunities”. He is impressed and excited to work with the Gianni staff and eager to meet Ocean Reef Members. His enthusiasm and knowledge of Italian cuisine is a wonderful addition to our dining community.
Chef Andrea Rodella is a dynamic leader with years of experience in creating fine dining memories.
