Welcome Erwin Pals Vice President, Food & Beverage
As announced last week at the Town Hall Meeting, Giovanni Melis, Vice President, will be retiring at the end of February. Fortunately, Giovanni agreed to stay for the month so that the incoming Vice President of Food & Beverage, Erwin Pals, could spend a few weeks with him getting to know the Club’s Food & Beverage operation together.
Erwin obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management in Europe, and then moved to the United States in pursuit of a career in hospitality. He joined The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta as Food and Beverage Manager and was a part of the team responsible for obtaining the AAA -5 Diamond Award in 2004, for In Room Dining and the Ritz’s Atlanta Grill.
Erwin next took on the role as Executive Steward at The Ritz-Carlton, Naples, Beach Resort, a flagship property for Ritz where he would continue to increase his responsibilities and accomplishments over the next 17 years. For the past 10 years, in his role as Director of Food and Beverage overseeing both the Ritz Naples Beach and Golf properties, Erwin was responsible for 11 restaurants and a world-class banquet operation. He also played an intricate role in the creation, development and execution of a large-scale renovation at the property including multiple new restaurants and concepts.
Erwin will be on property beginning February 10 and will be joined by his wife and two young children once the school year is completed.
