Affiliate Club Privileges:

  • Affiliate Club Members must notify the Ocean Reef Club Membership Office of their expected arrival at least 48 hours in advance and are able to secure accommodations 90 days into the future. Their home club must e-mail an introductory letter to the Membership Office and a current club card from their home club must be presented upon their arrival. The introductory letter is only extended to spouses, significant others, or children 23 years or younger that are active and in good standing at the home club.
  • Affiliated Club Members are required to make reservations for the Inn, Vacation Rentals or Marina through the Membership Office at the Ocean Reef Club. Club usage is limited to one visit a year up to five days. Prevailing guest rates apply while staying in the Club’s facilities (Inn room, Vacation Rental or dock slip is booked based on space available). Holidays, blackout dates and other restrictions may apply.
  • Affiliate Club Members must be overnight guests in order to have access to the Club and its amenities.
  • Any club receiving reciprocity with Ocean Reef Club will be able to cross bill to the Club and not to the individual member’s account. Advance notification will be required.
  • All Affiliate Club Members are expected to comply with the current Rules and Regulations of Ocean Reef Club, Inc. We reserve the right to deny or revoke a visitor’s privileges on such grounds, as we see fit.

General Information:

  • To help you best take advantage of the Club and its many offerings, we would be honored to provide a guided tour of our treasured place in the Florida Keys. From stunning features that are hard to miss– like Buccaneer Island and our 175-slip Marina –to meaningful places you might not notice on the map, the Membership Team will be happy to show you all the things that make The Reef so special.
  • A guide to special activities going on during your stay can be found in This Week at The Reef, available at the Dock Office, Front Desk or Membership Office.

Dress Code:

The Dress Code has been a long-standing and cherished tradition of Ocean Reef Club. The standards of dress are by direction of the House & Grounds Committee and in the rules as designated by the Board of Directors.

  • Dining Attire: The required attire for gentlemen in all restaurants is best described as “Club Casual” – collared shirts and dress trousers and equally appropriate attire for ladies. Frayed or torn clothing is not permitted. Midriffs must be covered. Shorts, if worn, must be of walking length. Smart long denim jeans are allowed in all of our outlets, with the exception of CH Prime and CH Lounge. Jackets are required in the Members-only CH Prime and CH Lounge.
  • Headwear: Gentlemen are expected to remove their hats whenever entering a Club facility, excluding the Raw Bar, Burgee Bar, Grill Room for lunch and Fitness Centers, where headwear is acceptable. Wearing baseball-style caps backwards is not acceptable in any Club area.
  • Cellular Telephones: Use of cell phones in any of the Club’s restaurants is not permitted.
  • Recreation Attire: Cut-off, unhemmed and tattered jean shorts are not allowed. Each recreational area also has dress requirements as shown below:
  • Golf: Golf courses and Driving Range require collared shirts for men (no mock turtle necks) and appropriate golfing shorts (no cargo or athletic shorts). Sleeveless golf blouses with collars are permissible for ladies, as is other appropriate golfing attire. Golf shoes must have non-metal spikes and shirt tails must be tucked in at all times.
  • Tennis, Pickleball & Croquet: Tennis requires appropriate tennis clothing and footwear. Short and long tights must be covered. Pickleball permits fitness attire and footwear. Gentleman’s shirts must have sleeves. All-white attire must be worn on the Croquet Courts. Swim trunks and cotton t-shirts are not permitted.
  • Bathing Attire: One or two-piece bathing suits that provide appropriate coverage are acceptable. Bathing cover-ups, as well as footwear, must be worn in all areas away from the beach and pools on Buccaneer Island. Athletic-style tank tops are permitted for men on Buccaneer Island.
  • Fitness Center & Outdoor Exercise: Shirts must be worn for jogging, walking and other forms of exercise within the community. All shirts worn by gentlemen within the community must have sleeves or if sleeveless, must be hemmed. Ladies shirts must have full coverage. Proper athletic footwear is required in the Fitness Centers.
